APU (Auxiliary Power Unit)

An auxiliary power supply device mounted on mobile equipment such as tanks and armored vehicles that enables the operation of equipment, such as turret drive, communications, and surveillance systems, by supplying the power required for operation without the operation of the main engine.

1) Since tanks and armored vehicles do not show a significant difference in fuel consumption between idling and maximum load operation, they are essential equipment for reducing fuel consumption by operating with minimum fuel.

2) During ambushes, there is a significant difference in a tank's ambush capability depending on whether an APU is installed; running the main engine during an ambush increases risk by exposing the tank to enemy tanks, attack helicopters, or drones due to heat and noise.

3) Vehicles without an APU are exposed to the problem of shortened equipment lifespan due to premature engine wear because the main engine operates continuously. Therefore, it was decided to install APUs in the K-1A2 and K-9 performance upgrade projects.

4) Essential for installation in command vehicles (such as the K77 Fire Control Armored Vehicle) that use high-power equipment, such as radios and computers, for extended periods.

Tactical Bridge-II Auxiliary Generator First Implementation of Integrated Hydraulic Power Unit

Tactical Bridge-II is a 'next-generation tactical bridge' system that helps our military rapidly pass through routes severed by bridges or canyons destroyed by the enemy, even with heavy mobile equipment.

It is being developed with the goal of reducing installation time and operating personnel by 60–70% and increasing passing load capacity by 15% compared to prefabricated bridges.

  • Integrated auxiliary generator + hydraulic supply unit

  • A device designed to operate the entire system in emergency situations in case of main power unit failure.

  • Supply of reserve power necessary for operational management

5kW small generator for civilian evacuation facilities

Civilian evacuation facilities refer to facilities designated as 'underground facilities' to protect the lives and property of residents in the event of a civil defense emergency (such as air raids or shelling).

It may include not only facilities owned by the government, local governments, and public organizations, but also 'privately owned facilities' installed under the Building Act that are equipped with evacuation functions.
